A Brand New Beginning

5月25号，和公司同事一起，送一批物资去灾区。

那天天气有点阴 途中有段还落着小雨

从德阳下高速 从绵竹走县道赶往汉旺

路上遇到几车返回的特警 在车上他们几乎都疲惫的睡着了

曾经去过绵竹一次

记忆中是个很美丽的城市

道路两旁农家的墙上都是极漂亮的年画

再次踏上这条路 没想到会是地震后

还好情况比想象中的要好 只是极少部门的房屋有损

大部门的只屋顶的瓦片掉落或者移位 

也算不幸中的大幸了

路况不是很好 很多地方路面都有损毁 也许是因为最近被太多的重型大卡碾压过

一路上  空气中时而是焚烧秸秆的烟熏味儿

时而是陈年酒坛里酒花的香味 听说很多老酒窖都在这次地震里面损毁了 很多存着几十年老酿的原度酒都洒了

后来靠近汉旺镇的时候 可以闻到消毒水味儿

即使已经在电视上太多次的看到过那些倒塌的房屋和一顶接一顶的帐篷

但当这些情景摆在眼前的时候 还是觉得触目惊心

虽然很庆幸还是有一部分房屋安然无恙  

但当看到那些倒塌成一片废墟的房屋的时候

心里还是忍不住的担忧 没有了这个家 他们以后的生活该怎么办？也许这是他们积攒了大半辈子才盖起来的几间房买上的一套屋

就那么一瞬间 什么都没有了 

从拥有到失去 那应该是最痛苦的感受了


（不知道老伯是否还能从这个废墟里面找到他珍惜的那些...）


（虽然没有完全倒塌， 但相信没人敢继续留在里面了  
1楼的一间铺面上挂着“夕阳红剧院”， 也许这里在震前是一个老人的活动中心 现在那些本该安享天伦的老人们却只能在阴冷潮湿的帐篷里度日）

进入汉旺的时候 发现了一支120急救车队 全部是湖北过来的  一长队的120车里面 看到一辆襄樊的120 于是给襄樊的ww同志发了条汇报短信

我们最初的计划是到东方汽轮机厂   因为之前有同事和他们的一位工程师联系过 了解到他们现在缺水缺蔬菜 

而在这种连生活都没保障的情况下 上面下了强命令 他们必须在两个月之内恢复生产

当我们到达的时候 他们说前两天 有部队给他们送去了水 

所以现在暂时不缺水了 他们让我们把物资送到更需要的地方... 很感动...

听他们说 在汉旺镇下面的一些乡的些灾民中心 因为是一个村单独迁出来的 所以人比起大的安置中心要少  知道的人相对也就少 所以能收到的物资也相对不足

听他们的建议 我们打算继续往里走

但在出汉旺的路口 被海军陆战队拦住了....

据说里面情况还很严重 有可能出现危险  所以道路封锁起来 只能当地人、军队及政府的车辆和人员进入 

btw， 海军陆战队的GG们很帅！

于是绕道去安县

一路上 可以明显感到越往推进一公里 灾情就曾几何倍数的增加

相比起之前不平坦的路况来说 这一路上 路面和桥梁也有的出现了开裂的现象

到了道喜村 里面都几百从山里面转移出来的灾民

不知道是因为当天降温的原因还是当地低温更低 只穿了一件T-Shirt感觉有点冷



因为帐篷搭在乡间小道的泥土上 一般都是最底层铺一层的砖头 上面再铺棉被 可以起一点防潮的作用

但是仍然看到有人连砖头都没有 直接铺了一层稻草（图片在下面有）  

这里有好多的老人

有一位爷爷 他们说是抗美援朝的老红军  我看到他穿了一件韩日版的校服款牛角扣大衣

很显然 那一定是被人捐赠的衣服

他老伴说他们没有足够的被子 于是我帮他们拿了两床被子

从始至终 那位爷爷都很沉默 没有开口说一句话 远远的站在旁边 或者蹒跚的跟着老伴回帐篷 ....

这里有太多的老人了 

鲐背之年遭遇到如此天灾

这里还有好多小婴儿 幸而很多人都很心细的记着他们 为他们送来了奶粉

可是很多小婴儿还是缺衣服 抱过一个两个月大的小妹妹 能感觉到 衣服都是润润的



（这个小弟弟睫毛超级长~ 非常可爱 这是刚刚睡醒的样子 她婆婆说 给阿姨笑一个 阿姨那么远来看你的 走了就要过好多年才能看到了... ... 我希望还可以很快见到你们的， 但是我也心虚的想，也许也可能一辈子也不会再碰面了吧） 

在车中 和posei的老婆聊到刚才的感受

她的一句话说的很意味深长：其实 对于这里的人来说 灾后重建中给与帮助才更重要 

是啊 他们需要存几年的钱买水泥 再存几年买砖头 还要和相亲调换农务 才能够修上一幢房子

对于他们来说 几千一万盖上几间新屋 困难的成都要比我们想象的大得多 

......

从安县回成都的路上 遇到的刚从山里面回来的解放军车队

看得出他们疲惫的脸 很多人神情都有些呆滞了

他们每人都有一个口罩 可以想象 山里面的情况不乐观

后来听当武警的弟弟说 他的战友现在还在那些大山里的村子忙帮挖尸体 

那些地方一般道路不通 很多救援物资都是空投的 

他们或者还留在当地的村民如果饿了 就自己爬到山顶去找空投下来的水和干粮

我们在车里给他们挥手 竖起大拇指
 

偶然路过非常有名的九州体育馆 大家决定停下来进去看看

虽然灾民在这里也仍然只能睡地铺 但相比起之前安县小镇上的那些安置中心的灾民 这里的硬件条件已经算好太多了

体育馆台阶前的公告栏上面贴满了寻人启事

公告栏上面架了两台大液晶电视 播放着中央电视台的新闻



大家说到里面去看看 

这里管理相对更加有序 每个灾民胸前都挂着一个纸牌 我没有仔细去看上面的内容 猜想大概应该是他们的姓名之类的信息

地面上地铺一床挨着一床 小j拿着他的相机拍照 我劝他放下相机 

现在 这里怎么说 也是他们的家 一个可以遮风挡雨但万分简陋的家 我们不应该这样随便闯入他们的家中 打搅他们的生活


我深深的埋着头在体育馆里面走了几十米 希望不被人注意到 可一路仍感觉有目光发现了我这个外人 匆忙的在下一个出口走了出来

出口处小j和一位婆婆闲聊起来

婆婆是北川城关区（大概记得是这个地方）人 地震那天她在她家两层的小楼里面

她跑出来后 身后的小楼就完全塌了

大家都往中心广场跑 

人群里越来越多的人喊 往绵阳去

于是婆婆也跟着人群往绵阳走

途中下起了大雨 她浑身被雨淋得通透

一路上不断有前来接他们去绵阳的车

可是她年纪大 挤不过人家 

一直走了12个小时 才终于搭上了车 到了绵阳

当她平静的说到 她家现在有六口人还没有音讯的时候

自己眼泪一下就涌上来了 可是强忍着 不能在婆婆面前哭啊

我安慰婆婆到 听说政府要给你们修新城 你一定要养好身体啊 等着政府给你们盖好新的家

她反复说： 那就好那就好

小j问她现在生活是否满意 有什么不好的地方吗?

她说：没什么不好 他们每顿都给我们发吃的 穿的也发

问到都吃什么的时候

她仍然满足的说：一人一碗稀饭 一个玉米馍

我不知道该说什么好......

也许老人家还没有完全从地震的惊吓和之后的颠簸的阴影中走出来

也也许她一直没有机会倾诉她这段苦难经历和内心的悲伤

一直不停的说不停的说 好像有说不完的话

同事好几次催我离开 她仿佛并没有注意到 没有停止说话

而且说话的时候 思维好像有些不清晰

老是从这个事情的叙述上跳到另外一个上 

让人觉得心里面有些酸

还好老人的精神状态和身体状况都不错 

希望政府能尽快的给他们一个更好的安置 婆婆也可以在有生之年多过上一段时间的安稳日子



后来婆婆的三女儿回来了

她也参与到倾诉中来 她说他们到了绵阳 先在体育场外的帐篷住 前两天有人说不能住帐篷了

就搬到体育馆里面来 最开始是在一层 有人说这里不行 要挪位置

现在这个地方 是挪了三次才安定下来的

我看看周围 这里处在室外 虽然有房檐 下点小雨中雨什么的不会被淋 但大雨就说不一定了

而且晚上刮风肯定是很冷的

她说她两个女儿 因为昨天被人这样赶来赶去的 跟她赌气跑了 她女儿怪她为什么别人让你挪你就挪！

现在两个孩子还不知道在哪儿

我想， 那是地震后生活的陡然巨变 使得情感变得更加敏感的原因吧 失去了家园和亲人 家中没有男丁 对未来的茫然
 
有被抛弃的感觉  一旦所面对的环境再有些许的风吹草动 就很容易再次的被深深的刺痛到

她说 现在什么都没有了 身上的衣服 和放枕头边那一小包衣物也是人家捐的

可恶的是 晚上还有小偷来偷

她的大姐 在地震中伤了腿

因为退休前在人大工作过 所以一直不愿意去医院治疗

她姐姐说因为自己是人民的公仆 在这种时刻不能和人民抢资源 还有比她更严重的重病患更需要医疗救助 自己的伤 可以慢慢自愈

她说政府已经给他们找了另外一个地方（没有听说过那个地方） 鼓励他们搬过去 都已经给她说了好几次了

但是她一直没去 因为那个地方也是四面环山 她怕再次遇到地震 她怕了这样的日子

她打算以后就在安县县城周围找个地方生活下去

从婆婆和她女儿那里 强烈的感受到 对于现在的他们 觉得能够从地震中逃生 已经是万幸 没有太多的物质上的要求

他们需要的 是心灵上的关怀和安慰

他们需要有人能够去护理一下他们心中的伤口 而这种护理极其简单 也许就是倾听就足够了

回成都的路上 接到朋友说成都再次遭遇余震 而且是自512以来最为严重的余震

我想 晚上又会又很多人搬到室外住了吧

相比起这里的人 成都人已经幸福太多 

其实成都的生活并没有受太大的影响 

好多人也一如以往的吃喝麻将娱乐

如果想想这里的人 我真的希望大家可以从中分一部分精力来帮助他们

昨天看到身在珠海的番茄在她blog里面写下一句话：

今年的生日愿望只有一个 就是希望不要再地震了

很感动

其实我们在物质上能够帮助到他们的地方很少很少

但正如千纸鹤上面写到的：在爱的面前 困难不算什么

你们的关心和爱心 可以给他们很多很多的力量

以下是公司公司版的记录 总体感觉有点点政治色彩 但不浓



On May 25, ten colleagues teamed with seven volunteers
from the ShanMeiTe People Development Co.
(山美特拓展) to drive our donation goods to
the quake hit disaster area. The convoy
includes one big truck and three personal
vehicles.
Our route starts from Chengdu (成都) around 9
am, reroute to De Yang (德阳), Han Wang (汉旺), An Xian (安县), Mian Yang (绵阳), and
back to Chengdu around 6:00 pm.




Depending on the location or the ground
conditions, some buildings were completely
leveled or severely damaged, others are not. In
the towns, buildings are in a better condition.
We saw more houses in the countryside
collapsed. This is primarily due to the poor
quality in design and/or construction.



Our original plan was to deliver goods to the
Dong Fang Turbine Co. (东方汽轮机厂) in
Han Wang Town（汉旺镇）. After arriving
there, we saw a military distribution center is
right in front of the company. The Premier
Wen was there the day before. We know they
no longer need us and we should deliver our
goods to those refuges from the mountains.

After about 45 min of driving, we arrived at one
of the refuge camps in Ju Shui (雎水)of An
County (安县). The camp is setup for the
people from Dao Xi Village (道喜村). The
Village Accountant gave us a brief on the
situation and appreciated our help.



Jennifer is the organizer of this event. She and
others are discussing how to distribute our
goods to the most needed people. They include
water, medicines, vegetables, salt, cooking oils,
rice, clothes and others.



From talking with local people, we learned
vegetables are in short supplies. So 80 KG of
cucumbers and 45 KG of potatoes were
delivered to the survivors.



We unloaded part of bottled water to the camp.
These waters were shipped to us by Shanghai
colleagues right after the earthquake. We put
them into better use in the refuge camps.


Most refuges ran for their lives from the
mountain villages to the town without bringing
anything with them. They need almost
everything supporting their lives, like clothes
and toiletries. They were so happy to see us
deliver these to them.



The mother is happily selecting a shirt for her
boy while others looking on.



The girl is so happy to choose her favorite one
from a pile of donated clothes.



Since the earthquake, our colleagues in
Shanghai delivered many boxes of medicines
for Chengdu office. We decided to donate
them. Adam is carrying a box of Ban Ran Gen
(板蓝根) with a medical worker from
Shanghai’s Hua Shan Hospital (华山医院).


Napoleon is delivering another box of
medicines.



Ying is helping to untighten the ropes of a
delivery truck.



Edward and Ying are unloading two bags of
rice.




James is helping another old lady to choose a
piece of suitable clothes.
With his own grandma over 90 years old, James
paid special attention to elder people. He made
an effort to help them especially in a crowd,
because they have difficulty to compete with
those younger ones to get what they need.



Lei-Ling started talking with this old lady and
learned she is 96 years old. The lady lives in
the mountain village and was carried down by
relatives after the quake. Now she wants to
have comforters and mats for sleeping.
Although the temperature is at close to 30C, the
old people are easy to get cold. For unknown
reasons, the donated supplies are piled in the
warehouse but cannot go to needed people right
away. Lei-Ling had to go out of her way to get
sleeping things for several elder ones on this
trip. She became a life saver for them.



Due to the tent shortages, the old lady can only
live in a damaged house with her paralyzed
daughter-in-law. She is so glad Jennifer and
others can come and help them.



Many villages arrived at the camp with nothing.
This lady went back to the mountain village to
take out some cooking things and furniture later
on. She and her husband walked one full day to
do so, because there were no more roads
available. Now she has lived in the tent for
more than ten days, with a wood stove on the
ground to cook her daily meals.



We talked with many earthquake survivors in
the refuge camps. They expressed
appreciations to what the government has done
so far. Many tent villages have been set up.
The food and water are delivered to them twice
a day. In addition, many relief goods are
delivered to them by strangers from around the
country; the same as we do. At this moment,
the only thing they are short of is the tent; not
those outdoor camping tents, but more sturdy
ones like these blue ones. Some tents are over
crowded with more than ten people sleeping in.



She is not a refuge, but a food vendor from the
town. After the earthquake, she came to help
providing food to those needed people. For that
reason, she doesn’t get a government issued
blue tent, rather make one of her own.

Luckily, they have two beds to avoid any water
coming in from outside during raining days.



To most refuges, it is normal to sleep on the
ground in a tent without mats. Besides a
cooking pot, she has almost nothing.



The kids are waiting in line to collect the
drinking water from a small temporary purifier
installed on a utility pole.



The kid is innocent. He does not know why his
mother carries him and waits in line to get some
toiletries from a relief worker. We hope the
earthquake does not leave a deep scar in his
young heart.


Two middle school kids saluted us. Before the
earthquake, when you travel in the mountain
region, you will find many kids salute you
when you drive by. Because the teachers told
them that these tourists bring the job
opportunity to the region, and help building the
schools for them. Now they are saluting us
because we once again bring the hope to them.
On our way back home, we were discussing
what should we do in a long term to these kids.
Being part of one of these Hope Schools (希望小学) 
should be our long term event to help
these earthquake survivors.


The Jiu Zhou Indoor Stadium (九州体育馆) has
become the largest refuge camp to host all of
those people from Bei Chuan (北川). People
are sleeping on the ground of the hall way. The
government provides food to them on a regular
basis. We were told even a school has been
started for the kids living there, 2000 of them.



In front of the Jiu Zhou Indoor Stadium (九州体育馆), there is the bulletin board with many
posters looking for somebody they love. This
reminded me the same scene at the Trinity
Church of the Lower Manhattan right after the
9.11 attack.



This 68 year old lady is calmly telling the life
time story to James and Jennifer, how she
walked down the mountains for 20+ hours to
the plain area. Although we are not
psychologists, by listening to them, we are
helping to heal the wounds.



There is a famous “Hope Garden” (许愿园) in
the Jiu Zhou Indoor Stadium. The kids are
organized to do drawings of what they want to
do. This kid did an Olympic Rings to mark the
2008 Summer Games in Beijing. The Chinese
characters say “SiChuan, Be Strong”.
